Evening Swim
Race
:17
0.5 mile swim: 17:16 (160th). Felt I had a pretty good swim, but it was slow. Of course, with the water at 85F, there was no wetsuit to aid my poor technique. For the first time, I was able to draft someone for half the race...and the frequent hands hitting my feet suggested someone was drafting me. (Graph includes HR for entire race).

Evening Transition 1
Race
:01
:27 - fast transition, especially with no wet suit.
Evening Tri Bike
Race
:33
12.4 mile bike: 32:36 (35th). Solid bike. But I fell over as I was trying to get onto my pedals, losing 5 seconds, blocking a couple people right behind me, and resulting in several nasty abrasions. Then I discovered that I couild shift into my two smallest cogs in back so I could not max out on speed on the downhills.
Evening Transition 2
Race
:01
:44 - Slower transition than normal, but I tried a couple new things to guard against the 90+ heat: I grabbed a bag of ice and a frozen water bottle.
Evening Run
Race
:26
5k run: 25:59 (109th). Can we say slow? I fumbled out of the gate as I tried to get ice out of the bag into my hat, dropped my water bottle, then finally stopped to get myself oragnized. After that, it was simply a long slog in high heat. Just couldn't get my legs going. Total time for the triathlon: 1:17:05 (58th overall, 8th in age class).

Pre-race setup
Had totally emptied my car yesterday to get it cleaned, so tonight is was reload everything back in for tomorrow's triathlon.

Cleanup
The afternoon thunderstorms rolled through, blowing over the table on our deck and smashing the glass top. It was two hours of picking up glass afterwork. Oh, and I still feel over-stretched from yesterday's yoga. Bending over to pick up glass isn't helping any....
