Since we now have flashy jersies/shorts we need to put together a Crash 5 team for the Kensington Road Race. There was some interest earlier, does anyone still want to race.

Also does anyone know the website I havn't been able to find it.

Check it out....if you bring a volunteer to the race it sounds like you can race for free!?

Midwest Cycling Group To Promote Kensington Road Race
Event Renamed Tour of Kensington Valley; Registration Opens Today

Midwest Cycling Group (MCG) will be promoting the Tour of Kensington
Valley (fka the Kensington Road Race) on May 20th at Kensington
Metropark in Milford Michigan. MCG has taken over the event from
Outdoor Athlete Events, Inc., which has operated the race since 2002.
The Kensington Road Race was founded by Quick Release Event
Promotions in 1996 and quickly became one of the state's most popular

Recently scheduled professional commitments prevented Outdoor Athlete
race director Jeff Herron from staging the event in May. That's when
Michigan Bicycle Racing Association Executive Director Paul Alman
stepped in to help find a solution that would permit this spring
classic to remain on the schedule rather than reschedule for fall.

MCG offered to produce the event for 2006 on behalf of Outdoor
Athlete, but discussions soon turned to the future, and how to grow
the event to the next level. Both sides agreed that MCG is ideally
positioned to lead that growth – it already promotes Michigan's other
major spring race, the Cone-Azalia Classic.

"We plan few changes for 2006," said MCG's Jon Rigdon, "the course
and schedule won't change, and we look forward to hosting riders from
throughout the state at this great park." MCG announced this notable
change: the race will now be named The Tour of Kensington Valley.

Herron commented on the transfer, "We're very satisfied with what
we've accomplished in our four years – introducing chip timing,
growing the size of the race and the prize pool, and introducing more
new riders to the sport than anyone ever thought possible. We're
confident Midwest Cycling Group will do great things as the promoter
of Michigan's two spring classics.

Final details for the race will be posted soon and will be available
