Should I start rubbing my prayer beads for snow, or is there enough on the ground to have the race? |

Nick Baic reports he was at the Garland Gourmet Glide on Saturday with 40 TC kids.
So there was snow and a track enough to have that event but not the race? Even if there was only trail enough for 5k of skating racers would have come up for a 10K skating race. Hell a 10k interval start followed by the Glide and Gorge would have been a good day.

I skate skied at Boyne Highlands last night and it was great. Classic tracks were great also. Lots of snow no dirt. Gary (Boyne Nordic Director) has always said if any race is cancelled they would be more than happy to have a race. It could be on the golf course if people wanted a flatter course. If anyone wants to come up north for a ski, I would be more than happy to do any kind of workout hard or easy.

The Michigan Cup Committee looked for an alternative site but none was available.
I'm up for a quick drive to the Headquarters for a ski on Saturday. Car pool anyone?

Saturday looks pretty promising up north.
Sunday, NOAA says rain likely.
Klister race on Sat would be fun.
I was at XCSKIHQ last Sunday conditions would have been marginal for a race then. Reportedly they have received a little fresh snow since then. |

Rumor is that the race is not a sure thing. The last time they had a snow issue, they moved the classic race to the Headquarters, but held the Glide on the normal course at Garland.
These were going to be my first races of the year, so I hope they hold 'em!
