Dang, I got in a couple perfect hours at Rose Lake this morning in the glorious sunshine. Hill and dale. Field and swamp. Miles! Superfast! Lots of animal sign -- they're waking up.
Looks like it'll hold for at least the next week. Warm days, cold nights. Can't beat it! No grooming needed!
All I need are miles of open terrain strung together. Anywhere will work as long as the shrubbery isn't too dense.
But I'd like more elbow room than Rose Lake offers. I can do a few miles there in a few minutes, it seems like. Maybe Sleepy Hollow...
I put up a bunch of YouTubes of crust season last year at username JeffOYB, including a cool first-ever pole cam (I think I beat GoPro to it at YT).
