FALUN, Sweden (March 20) - Germans Axel Teichmann and Claudia Nystad each took the win Friday during the men's 3.3 and women's 2.5K prologue at World Cup finals in Sweden. Kikkan Randall (Anchorage) was the top U.S. finisher, taking 31st.

This year the Worldloppet Ski Federation added the 50 km Bieg Piastrow. In so much as my heritage is over 80% Polish, the race became a no-brainer as a choice for my 10th Worldloppet event.

The day was clear and crisp and I was super excited to be racing again. The other racers had braved a week of sketchy weather during the other races that I did not race in. I somehow was blessed to arrive in town just as the sun came out.
