It was a second day of great racing conditions at Boyne Highlands, this time for the 15KM Freestyle event. Racers took the Heather Chair Lift to the top of the mountain for the start, then raced down, back up, down (with some VERY tight and twisty corners), partway back up, and down again toward the finish line.

Denny Paull beat out Chris Weingartz to win the Boyne Highlands 10K Classic today under excellent racing conditions. Daneile Gebhart took first among the women, beating out Julie Houle. Conditions were excellent! Pictures...

As of the end of the Black Mountain 30Km Classic, Grand Rapids Nordic has slightly increased its lead in the overall team standings, but it could still be anyone's championship: the first four teams are separated by only 1,115 points.

It snowed for several days before and the course was freshly groomed for both skating and classic skiing. A very cold morning (–26°C) delayed the start from 10 am to 11am.
