Upon un-boxing the skis, I immediately noticed that the binding and boot system resembles a Look bicycle cleat. The boots are light. There is no rotating cuff commonly found on other brands of skating boots.

One great thing about the World Masters is not worrying about your start lanes. The start has 20 diagonal lanes and your exact starting position is marked with a tag, i.e. row 1 and lane 5.

The Russians who had over 100 entries in the World Masters seemed to dominate every age class. Stephen Smiegel seemed to have one of the best Michigan Cup race finishes. Steve placed 12th in a very competitive age class.

Lots of pics from Italy. The venue was in the mountain valley just 15 minutes up a beautiful hanging valley from Malles Italy. The elevation was 1700 M and the courses were very difficult.
