Justyna Kowalczyk (POL) made an early attack against the other athletes and made a gap together with Therese Johaug (NOR). The two ladies managed to stay in front the entire race working together as a team and keeping the others behind them.

The U.S. Ski Team's Kikkan Randall (Anchorage) led the two person U.S. charge in 15th at Thursday's Tour de Ski stage six women's pursuit in Toblach. Teammate Kris Freeman (Andover, NH) finished 28th in the men's pursuit.
