The first annual West Branch Classic was a big hit! The course was very fast with many rollers, smooth low traffic roads and one big thigh buster of a hill finish!

This year the CXC Masters Team is expanding programming by establishing specific chapters around the region, including Lower Michigan. CXC coaches will be assigned to each chapter to work with Master skiers in group and individual settings.

Local Michigan Cup racer Arne Borgnes finished third in class in the Birkebeinerrennet (Norwegian Birkie) with a time of 4:47:05, just 46 seconds out of the silver.

This year the Worldloppet Ski Federation added the 50 km Bieg Piastrow. In so much as my heritage is over 80% Polish, the race became a no-brainer as a choice for my 10th Worldloppet event.
