Junior National Qualifier moves from Traverse City to Wisconson

The Salomon CXC Junior and Youth Cup planned for Jan 28-29, 2023 in Traverse City, Michigan at Hickory Hills Ski Area will be moved to a new venue due to low natural snow conditions in Traverse City.

In a repeat of last year's Krazy Klassic, Team NordicSkiRacer Brad Baas and Hanson Hills/Cross Country Ski Shop skier Rebecca Davis won the 2023 Krazy Klassic 10km. Both racers doublepoled the entire course.

Once again, Adam Haberkorn and the crew at Huron Meadows Metropark in Brighton, Michagin, performed a miracle to get man-made snow down on the course in time for the Frosty Freestyle.

The CXC Cup Schedule for the Junior National Qualifying events is now set for 2022-2023 ski season. Two of the events will be held in Michigan, including races at Hickory Hills in Traverse City on January 28-29 and another weekend in Houghton on December.

A record number of skiers turned out for this year's Muffin Race: 34 juniors competed in the Michigan Cup Junior Team Sprint Relays (ages 13-19), and 53 juniors competed in the Mini Muffin races.
