Cold But No Snow at Wausau Clinic

Wed, Oct  18, 2006 - By CXC Skiing

With the recent Midwestern snowfall, an especially enthusiastic group of over 30 skiers braved freezing temperatures and biting wind at the most recent Get Your Nordic On! clinic in Wausau, Wisconsin. The clinic was run in conjunction with the Wisconsin State High School Ski League fall meeting, allowing the coaches to participate in an interactive technique session. Thanks to the publicity of the SkiPost.com emailing, Nordicskiracer.com and Skinnyski.com, many local skiers seized the opportunity to join the free clinic.

Bryan Fish, CXC Team head coach, led the drills. Skiers then broke off into groups, led by Fish and CXC Team athletes Bryan Cook and Garrott Kuzzy. By the end of the afternoon, everyone had some new moves to try or fresh technique pointers to work on.

Several coaches commented afterwards on how great it is to receive the most up-to-date information on training and technique from a knowledgeable source in a sport that is so rapidly evolving. Thanks to area coaches for arranging the clinic and to DC Everest HS for hosting the event.
