After US Ski and Snowboard Live announced the end of their streaming service earlier this year, American cross country fanatics were left to wonder if ski racing would be able to be viewed without using a VPN or some other workaround. Rejoice! For the ‘26/’27 season, FIS Cross Country World Cup races will be available to view for FREE in the United States of America.
Earlier this week it was announced that FIS and US Ski and Snowboard will launch a new channel called Ski and Snowboard World Cup, which will be a free ad supported streaming television (FAST) channel available across many platforms, including Prime Video, Fire TV, Google TV, Roku, PS5, Plex, and possibly others. All internationally hosted races will be available to view live and on-demand on the new channel. Races that are hosted domestically would air on NBC and would stream live and on-demand on Peacock. I write “would” because there aren't any World Cups in the USA this season, but hopefully there will be one next season. All races, international and domestic, will stream live and be available on-demand on Ski and Snowboard World Cup, FIS and US Ski and Snowboard’s new YouTube channel.
Free Options:
- Ski and Snowboard World Cup, FAST (International races.)
- Ski and Snowboard World Cup, YouTube (All races.)
FAST is supported on Pluto TV (Paramount), Tubi (Fox), Xumo Play (Comcast/Charter), Sling Freestream, ITVX, Local Now. Devices that support it include Samsung TV Plus, The Roku Channel, LG Channels, and Vizio WatchFree+. - NBC (Domestic races.) Plus you can get it on Samsung TV Plus, The Roku Channel, LG Channels, Vizio WatchFree+.
Paid Options:
- Peacock (Domestic races.)
How great is that?! I didn't hate the previous US Ski and Snowboard streaming service, but they were never able to launch a Roku app, which would have made it easier to stream on most smart TVs, and it was yet another subscription to pay for and manage. This new arrangement will mean that viewing our sport will be much more accessible for the time being. At the very least we will be able to watch these races on our TVs with the new FAST channel or the YouTube app.
I hope that this new ease of accessibility will grow interest in our sport, and satisfy those of us who are already obsessed with it. So let's make the most of it! Be sure to watch the races on your biggest TVs, and to share the joy with friends and loved ones. This is great news and something to look forward to as the season is about to begin!
