TRAVERSE CITY, MI — Your Thursday night seats at the City Opera House come with breathtaking scenery, wild adventures and a good cause. Presented by Vasa Ski Club, the Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival World Tour returns to City Opera House on Thursday, October 8, 2026. With just three days until the event, now is the time to grab your $20 tickets and rally your friends to do the same.

Social hour begins at 5:30 p.m., with films starting at 6:30 p.m. General admission tickets are available online at cityoperahouse.org and in person at Backcountry North, Brick Wheels and Oryana.

The evening brings extraordinary outdoor films to the big screen, featuring remote landscapes, daring feats and powerful stories with plenty of heart. Come ready to laugh, cheer and leave inspired to get outside.

For Gussie Peterson, who helped bring Banff to Traverse City, the advice for first-time attendees is simple.

“I would say, sit down and put your seatbelt on, because you're gonna be overwhelmed with the excitement, the outdoor adventures. The electricity, you can feel it in the air,” Peterson said.

For more than a decade, Banff has connected Traverse City audiences with adventures around the world while making a difference close to home. As Vasa Ski Club’s largest annual fundraiser, the event supports its SkiSparks, Nordic Flyers and Vasa Raptors youth programs. Every ticket helps young skiers build skills, gain confidence and discover a lasting love of the outdoors.

This year’s goal is a sold-out house, and the community can help make it happen. Bring your trail buddies, invite your neighbors and get your tickets today. It’s a rad night out that helps make the next generation’s adventures possible.>/p>
