Following several weeks off for some rest, Kris Freeman (Andover, NH) finished 16th in the men's 15K classic race Saturday in Italy Sweden's Anders Soedergren won, while Justyna Kowalczyk of Poland took the women's 10K.

Traverse City's Ben Lannin won the 50 Km freestyle at the 2009 North American Vasa in 2:30:59. Debbie Westphal time trialed much of the race by herself to win in 3:06:43.

From what I have seen, as long as you are in the west with dry air, cool evenings, and clean snow the JetStream Blue will be the wax of the day, even if temperatures are in the mid 20s.

Kikkan Randall (Anchorage) made it to the finals in the women's race, finishing sixth in a freestyle sprint at Vadidentro, Friday. Torin Koos (Leavenworth, WA) sprinted to eighth, marking his and Randall's best finishes of the season.
