The idea of using ice rink shavings originated a few years back at the University of Utah. Here in Traverse City, we have a skating rink with a very willing set of Zamboni drivers who were more than willing to help create snow for us..

For many, the Back Forty was our favorite trail. Long and cruisey on the hills with a couple of challenging ones and then there is the perfect training hill, Interval Hill. Well, after many years of absence, the Back Forty is back!

Fischer Skis announced an increase of more than 20% in pre-season sales of Nordic ski products as cross country skiing experiences a surge in popularity across the nation. There are now more than 4.5 million cross country skiers in the U.S.
