Liebner and Gephardt win Black Mountain Freestyle

Blue Sky, sunshine and 24 degrees greeted skiers at the 20km Black Mountain Freestyle Race on Saturday March 3rd. The four laps of the 5 km loop prepared by Denny Paull and the Black Mountain Ski Club was, as one skier described it, a World Class Course.
Andy Liebner won the overall in a blistering time of 55:18, stopping to change to a different set of his USSPC ski poles along the way! Ryan Harris, the defending champion in this event, finished 2nd in 58:35, Jordan Wakely was 3rd in 59:14 followed closely by Steven Smiegel 59: 52 rounding out the sub-one hour skiers.
In the women’s race, Daniela Gephardt skied the 2 laps in 35:15 to take the overall victory followed by Brenda Carlson-Brown 38:19 and Gussie Peterson 41:28 in 3rd to complete the podium .
Post race, it was Doug Cornell (19th) rockin' with Don Camp (12th) and Robin Luce (20th)!
