Harris and Newmister take the Black Mountain Freestyle

The podium stayed the same as the classic race for the Men 12km Freestyle Race at Black Mountain...only in a slightly different order.
Today Ryan Harris held off the hard charging Drew Moore to take the win by the margin of 1 second, 32:28 to 32:29! Denny Paull, (early morning grooming again) continued his excellent skate performances this year with a 3rd place.
Sarah Newmister made it 2 wins in a row in the Black Mountain Freestyle, skiing an excellent 40:40 time on the 11.2 km course. Deanna Spencer was 2nd in 43:42 And Bea Roxburgh was 3d in 46:56.

The new NON-BEAST course was a big hit with racers today as it flowed smoothly and quickly over the rolling terrain of the Presque Isle side of the Black Mountain Trails.. Thanks to all who continue to support our volunteer grooming efforts.
Said Newmister after the race, "Today was on lap, the reverse of yesterday. There were really good climbs and descents. I felt like - today especially - is was Black Mountain at it's finest." There was about 700 feet of climbing.
