Racers take revenge on Winter

Racers had a sweet time taking back the snow from Mother Nature at the Racers Revenge on Winter 12.5k Freestyle at Hanson Hills Recreation Area in Grayling, MI, this morning. A quickly organized race to replace the cancelled Boyne Mountain Grinder Freestyle - the 7th Michigan Cup race to be cancelled because of poor skiing conditions this season, racers were treated to a hard pack course covered with a couple inches of fresh snow for a great skating surface and fast times. Temperatures were in the mid-teens at the start under mostly cloudy skies.

Justin Andre and Butch Stockton came up with a different course than usual. It including the climb up the Green Trail hill a couple times and featured the famous M-93 hills in the last kilometer.

Laura Web and Jeff Koch finished on top of the podium. Web skied the trail in 40:26. Susan Vigland was second in 41:03, followed by Barbara Beauregard in third in 43:39.

Jeff Koch continued his winning ways this season with a smoking 33:20. Milan Baic skied in to second in 34:05, with Ross Williams third in 35:05.
