It was a tough day for the U.S. Ski Team in stage five of the Tour de Ski in Toblach. Kikkan Randall (Anchorage) was 29th in a tightly fought 3.3k classic prologue to the three stages in Toblach, dropping to seventh in the overall.

Torin Koos (Wenatchee, WA), skiing out of the Bridger Ski Foundation, and Jessie Diggins picked up opening day freestyle sprint titles as the U.S. Cross Country Championships opened at Rumford's Black Mountain.

The Rendezvous Ski Trails in West Yellowstone, Mont. are in great shape; Elevation and natural snowfall have been our friends this season, and skiers here have been spoiled with fantastic, mid-winter conditions all season.

Storm total accumulations across much of northwest Lower and the eastern U.P. will likely exceed one foot by Tuesdsay morning, with much less amounts heading toward Saginaw Bay. Snowfall rates will occasionally exceed 1 to 2 inches per hour.
