Stokely Creek: Great skating conditions this morning! The small uphills seemed non-existent with the free momentum rollercoastering me over the crests. Big hills had enough loose corn from the ginzu that they were perfectly controllable. Skating might be ok for a couple more hours, but touring skis will definitely be fine all day.
Cross Country Ski Headquarters: We will be closing the trails today, Friday, and tomorrow, Saturday, to preserve the base for the Michigan Cup Relay Race on Sunday.
Nubs Nob: The morning sweet spot for the last 3 days has been awesome . The groomers are taking full advantage of the 20 inch hardpack base .
Hiawatha Highlands: Good Morning! It's another milder morning up here....currently at -2 C. The sun is shining beautifully!!
The groomer is currently out with the Piston Bully -- the 2k Lighted has been groomed for both classic and skate. He is currently on the Crystal....at the moment is fixing up the Hiawatha loop (boots), and will finish up grooming the 5k, classic and skate. The Pinder system was done yesterday and is holding up well, as is the Red Pine system.
We hope everybody has an awesome sunshiny day!!
Hanson Hills: THURSDAY UPDATE — MARCH 5, 2026
?? Nordic Trail Update:
Skate lanes were groomed this morning on Yellow, Brown, Blue, and Easy Return.
This will be a wrap on our grooming operations for the season. Thanks to our grooming crew for keeping the trails in great shape all winter long.
?? Lodge and trails will remain open 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM through Saturday.
If you’ve been thinking about getting out for one more ski, the window is still open. Come enjoy the trails while the snow lasts! ??
Forbush Corner: It’s Wednesday, and we are forming a plan for the next couple of days. Tomorrow and Friday will probably be in play for some decent skiing. Tomorrow for sure. Going to groom up the 240 loop, Pancake, Linda’s Link, Badlands and the Pines loop for skate and classic. There are good classic tracks on the trails that won’t be groomed. Friday will be a bit more challenging for grooming, but maybe we can do the 240 loop, Linda’s link and Ridge. We expect to be closed to skiing on Saturday (ugly weather forecast) and not reopening until Thursday, March 12 following the warm temps. We hope that we will be open the following weekend based on cooler temps. Hold off on putting your skis away!
Hiawatha Highlands: Good Morning Snow Lovers!! It's a beautiful sunny morning up here....and shaping up to be a warmer one today. The temperature is currently at -1 C.
The groomer was out this morning -- the Pinder system was groomed for both classic and skate. The Red Pine system and Crystal system are holding up.
Come on up and enjoy this fantastic day!
Hanson Hills: Lodge and trails open at 9:00 AM
(Lodge closes at 3:00 PM)
No new grooming today. The PB100 really worked the snow yesterday grinding in new tracks, so we’re going to let the trail rest today.
Groomer Dan will be back out tomorrow morning to assess trail conditions and groom as conditions allow.
In the meantime, enjoy the sunshine and get out for a glide!
Swedetown: The Swedetown Trails will be closed to skiing and ski testing starting the morning of Friday, March 6, through 7:00 am Saturday, March 7. This will allow us to ensure quality groomed trails for the Great Bear Chase on March 7.
The current weather forecast shows a good chance of rain Friday afternoon and evening. This could mean grooming challenges and damage to the course by skiers while it is warm and wet. We want to groom and preserve such that everyone has a good experience on Saturday.
We want to keep Great Bear Chase skiers coming back, as each year the race contributes $20,000 or more to the Swedetown Trails Club for trail improvements and maintenance.
