With an extra weekend in January, the Michigan Cup Committee was able to let race directors to shift the schedule to take advantage of more reliable snow conditions.
At this time the race committee is planning for a return to the traditional point to point 50K and 24K courses and we look forward to hosting participants in-person.
It was a short season, marked by many race cancelations due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Headquarters was still able to get the team out to win the overall Michigan Cup.
Twenty-nine relay teams took on the course, which consisted of several trails and plenty of sections that had been bolstered by artificial snow. Skiers from all the Michigan Cup teams showed up and reveled in great spring conditions and camaraderie.
Hanson Hills / Cross Country Ski Shop has won the 2021 Brumbaugh Cup for most powerful senior team on the Michigan Cup circuit. HH/CCSS finished with 468 points, well ahead of second place Grand Rapids Nordic Ski Team.

The Cross Cross Country Ski Headquarters has a commanding lead going into the final weekend of racing. With 14,771 points, the Headquarters has nearly 2,600 points more than second place Team NordicSkiRacer.

It's now your best 4 races that will count toward Michigan Cup points in the senior division. The Junior Division has or will have between 9 and 11 races so individual junior rankings will be based on a skiers best 5 races.
The Black Mountain Classic and Black Mountain Freestyle races scheduled for March 6 an 7, 2021 will not be able to receive a DNR permit for the events. This means we have to cancel both races.
