A long road from Detroit for Lindsey Van

Lindsey Van's goggles were so fogged Friday that she basically had to jump blind. The ski jumper from Park City, Utah, couldn't see past her ski tips. She had to make the biggest landing of her life—"just by feel" - to win.

Freeman Fourth at Worlds in 15 Km Classic

Kris Freeman (Andover, NH) raced to an impressive fourth-place finish Friday at the 2009 FIS Nordic Ski World Championships. He came from behind, steadily improving his splits to finish 1.3 seconds off the podium.

Lodwick Wins Historic Gold

AfterTodd Lodwicxk and Billy Demong finished 1st and 3rd in the cross country portion of the Nordic Ski World Championships, officials determined the wind in Liberec was too strong to safely and fairly hold the jumping competition, which was postponed.

Randall Leads U.S. in Worlds Opener

Kikkan Randall (Anchorage) led the way for the U.S., finishing 26th as the 2009 Nordic Ski World Championships kicked off with a women's 10K classic Thursday in Liberec. Aino-Kaisa Saarinen of Finland won the event.
