Sun, Dec 7: Kensington Metropark (Milford)

The Kensington Metropark website says "The golf course trails last groomed on 12/6/25, but no tracks have been set at this time. All other trails remain ungroomed."

I have not skied on it yet, but I thought everyone would want to know that Kensington is grooming!

Not bad considering how early in the season it is. some grassy spots that you can get around easily. the loop behind Bucks is real nice for skating. not enough snow for tracks though. some areas do have leaves but not terrible. worth going, enjoy!

Still great as of this (Friday) morning. Hawk hills a little rough some dirt and vegetation showing through in parts- but skiable. Coyote run and contractors in great shape!

Really terrific skating Thursday morning. As reported, golf course was rolled this morning, and it's gorgeous (90% perfect, the rest is grassy). Thank you, Metroparks! From the Metroparks web site:
"Bucks Run is currently closed. Snow is currently being made for Bucks Run and construction will being in the coming weeks. Patrons are free to ski on the trails marked by orange flags on the golf course trails as conditions allow. The golf course and Cedar Trace trails will be rolled this morning December 4, 2025. No additional grooming will take place until we receive additional snow."

Fresh groom on coyote, hawk hills and cedar trace(contractors). No tracks. Still some scrub grass.
Best skating so far.
Thanks guys!!

Wed, Dec 3: Independance Oaks (Clarkston)

Actually somewhat skiable. They rolled around the lake and some of the other trails a few days ago. Some foot traffic has beaten it down a little. A lot of oak leaves and twigs. And they groom ON the bike path, and it's pretty thin, so if you fall, know that you're landing on pavement. But it's a good sign that they tried to so something with what little snow they had. No tracks set.

Classic skied cedar trace (loop behind bucks run) . Shallow tracks present more or less. Glide was fast, good grip too but I double poled mostly. Clean snow apart from some dried leaves on a stretch. I used good skis, glide wax was extra cold blue followed by red.

The conditions at Huron Meadows are still pretty decent, although there is more stubble coming through on some sections of the north and south golf course areas. as of 10:00 am it had not been rolled again and there were no classic tracks set, but it was still very skiable. Recommend using your B skis.

Tue, Dec 2: Huron Meadows Metropark (Brighton)

Already a few trail reports for Huron Meadows, so I’ll just add a little. First of all, skiers are very happy to have trail being groomed at Huron Meadows, and our thanks to the crew there. Not enough snow for classic tracks yet, but very nice classic skiing everywhere on Evo’s. Not ready for A skis yet.

Marvelous midwinter conditions. There is very little stubble showing on 90% of the course…in perfect condition with excellent grooming. You have to park in the lot on the left before the main lot but otherwise it is fantastic. You can ski from the lot up to the main trailhead. We skied the entire system on B skis, bring out the A skis tomorrow. No wind, sunny evening, fast snow.

All skate trails have been groomed at Huron Meadows. There's quite a bit of stumble showing though on the north and south golf course areas, but Buck's Run, the wooded trail behind Buck's Run, and the "contractor's loop" (Cedar Trace Trail) had good snow coverage. No classic track has been set - there's not enough snow. The snow is still soft - it should form up over the next few days.

Better than expected early season conditions...and a snow gun is starting to build up a pile of man-made snow!
