Michigan Cup Relays & Award Ceremony at XC Ski HQ: Sunday, March 7th. Note - the race has moved up a weekend - this is the new date of the race!

Bib Pick-up: 9:30-10:45am, day of race

Race start: 11:00am

Registration: ONLINE ONLY - MUST REGISTER AS A 3 PERSON TEAM (no individual registrations permitted)

Registration cost: $20 per person ($60 per team)

Join us for one of the most exciting ski races in Michigan! This grand finale race for the Michigan Cup Race Series features a relay race with 3 skiers per team: 1 classic leg, and 2 freestyle legs. Each skier skis approximately 4-6km per leg. You do not have to be a Michigan Cup racer to participate, but if you are, this race does count for team points.

This race will have a mass start - remember that only Leg 1 (classic leg) skiers will line up at the starting line. Faster skiers should self-seed in the front, slower skiers in the back. We request that you leave safe social distance between you and other skiers.

10 minutes before the start, we will ask that all Leg 2 and Leg 3 skiers head over to the "shop side" of the street to reduce crowding at the start area. Once the first leg has started, Legs 2 and 3 are welcome to go back across the street to the start area / exchange zone.

FOR THIS SEASON, online registration is required. You must register as a team of 3 - no individual registrations will be permitted. Online registration closes at 8:30am on Sunday, March 7th (there will be no in-person registration!). The entry fee is $20 per person/$60 per team. You will have the option to pay online, or to bring cash or check to bib pick-up. Each racer receives a commemorative pint glass and lunch!

After the Relays, stick around for the Michigan Cup awards ceremony. This year, due to Covid-19 requirements, the entire awards ceremony and lunch will take place outdoors on the deck and on the practice area. We request that everyone who attends the awards ceremony remains seated and refrains from standing/intermingling - we will supply a bunch of tables, but you are welcome to bring your own camping chair! We will be serving a post-race meal, of chili or mac 'n cheese, plus Great Lakes chips and a cookie. You can also bring your own picnic; however, BYO alcohol is not permitted since we now have our liquor license (alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase at the cafe).

To reiterate, any team who wishes to compete in the Michigan Cup Relays must register online, as a team, no later than 8:30am on Sunday, March 7th.

THERE IS NO IN-PERSON REGISTRATION. THERE IS NO SINGLE-PERSON REGISTRATION. YOU MUST REGISTER AS A 3 PERSON TEAM.
