Noquemanon Trail Network and the “Friends of the Pathway” will host the annual Honey Bear Classic Ski Race in Big Bay, MI on Saturday, February 18, 2012. Racers of all ages will compete on the 15 K or 30 K classic course set around the scenic Big Bay Pathway. This is a great course and environment for family fun.
Registration will begin at 10:00 am at the Thunder Bay Inn. Races begin at 12:00 noon at the Pathway trailhead staging area.
Entry fee is $30. Ages 10 and under ski free. Awards Ceremony with music, door prizes and refreshments will begin around 2:45 pm. Food tickets will be on sale for $5.00.

Kip Brady Skate Skiing Clinic
Bring
your skate skiing to a new level with the help of Kip Brady, phenomenal
skate skier and world class tri-athlete. Kip, an excellent hands-on
instructor, will get you skiing faster, regardless of your skating
proficiency - even up hills!
Please reserve your spot by emailing your name and session preference to
[email protected].
The fee is $10. This helps cover Kip's travel expenses. The clinic is
open to all skiers and ski racers. Kip will also be available for
private lessons after the afternoon clinic and on Sunday through the
early afternoon.

Learn to Ski for Free!
If
you have any interest in outdoor winter recreation, exercise, or just
plain fun, the “Learn to Ski for Free” lesson is a no-brainer. Each
Saturday at 4pm, from December 10th - March 4th, learn the basics of
Cross Country Classic Skiing or Skate Skiing at no charge (conditions
permitting). Adults and kids welcome. This is a beginner class, and FUN
is the main goal. Sign in at the rental desk at 3:45pm, or earlier if
you need to rent ski equipment for a nominal charge. This class is free
and lasts approximately 1 hour.
