Also on Tuesday, Erin Graham (Jericho, VT) was 13th in the Women’s 7.5K Sprint. The National Guard athlete had two penalties, finishing 3:35.9 behind Sonya Erasmus of Canada. Close behind Graham was Haley Johnson (Lake Placid, NY), also from the Maine Winter Sports Center in 15th place, 3:56.2 back with two penalties.
On Wednesday, Wynn Roberts (Brainerd, MN) finished 16th in the Junior 10K Sprint, with two penalties, 2:27.6 back. Johnson was again 15th in the Women’s Sprint, 3;04.3 back with two penalties, while Beth Ann Chamberlain (Duluth, MN) was 16th, 3:12 back with three penalties.
The Nove Mesto Europa Cup closed today with Pursuit competitions. Roberts placed 12th in the Junior 12.5K Pursuit, with 10 penalties, 8:18.9 back.
In the Women’s 10K Pursuit, the three US women finished 13th, 14th, and 15th,respecttively. Chamberlain was again the top US woman, with 10 penalties, 8:52.9 back, followed by Graham, with seven penalties, 9:09.5 back and Johnson, also with 10 penalties, 9:59.5 back.
Today’s competitions end this portion of the Europa cup season for the US Biathletes.
