During the previous World Cup in Rybinsk (RUS), the CC News had the possibility to speak with 26-year-old Justyna Kowalczyk, the top skier from Poland who is currently 4th in the overall World Cup ranking, about her expectations for the upcoming World Championships.

CC News:
Justyna, you are one of the favorites for a medal in the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Liberec. How do you plan your final preparations?

Justyna Kowalczyk: I'm going to Livigno for high altitude training and then directly to the races in Valdidentro.

CC News: What are your personal expectations?

Justyna Kowalczyk: I will do just my best and I hope the best ist enough for a medal. I will compete in all races, also in the relay competition with our great Polish team but my focus will be on the 10 km classical race and the Pursuit. The track last year was good for me and I heard that the entire World Championships courses are tough. That fits me well.

CC News: Your home country Poland is not far from Liberec. Is your family coming to the World Championships to support you?

Justyna Kowalczyk:
Oh yes, and not only the family. I expect a lot of fans from Poland. It will be a great World Championships in Liberec with a lot of great spectators from Poland and all over the world.
