In a ceremony held on the lake shore at Cresthill Resort, Hayward, WI during the Central Cross Country Skiing Regional Development Team Camp, Scott Chapin presented a $3000 check from the American Birkebeiner Ski Foundation Skier Development Committee to Scott Wilson, CXC Race Director and Yuri Gusev, CXC Program Manager. Attending the ceremony were the 23 athletes and 7 coaches training at the camp. The American Birkiebeiner has been awarding a total of $15,000-$20,000 a year to deserving organizations involved regionally in cross country skier development and the promotion of healthy lifestyles. CXC will use the funds to support athletes involved in their summer camps.

Central Cross Country Skiing is the designated body for the development
of cross country skiers in the 10 state Central Region of the United
States. CXC Skiing oversees youth programs; supports the Junior Olympic
Qualifying system, the Central Collegiate Ski Association,
and Senior/Master skiing; provides athlete, coach's and official's
education; coordinates competitions; and is the Midwest pipeline to the
US Ski Team. CXC is a 501c3 non profit corporation and gratefully
accepts tax deductible donations for program enhancement from all
sources.
