Kikkan Randall showed her form by taking the victory in the 30K freestyle marathon mass start race at the US Cross-Country Ski Championships on Wednesday on the trails at the Maine Winter Sports Center in Fort Kent, Maine. Randall used her sprint to take the 30K victory over a five skier pack with Rebecca Dussault, Holly Brooke and Caitlin Compton - all finishing within three seconds of Randall.
The men's 50k was won by Canadian Ivan Babikov. Tad Elliot took second place and collected the National Champion title. Lars Flora was third. Other top Midwest results: Bryan Cook 4th, Brian Gregg 6th, Garrott Kuzzy 8th, Chris Cook 11th, Maria Stuber 9th, Kristina Owen 10th.
