Nordic Championships Set For Placid

The U.S. Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined Championships hit Lake Placid during the town's annual Flaming Leaves Festival Oct. 10 and it will be only the second time the event is held off snow.

The U.S. Cross Country Ski Team wrapped up camp this week at its 2010 Olympic venue in Whistler and, according to Cross Country Coach Matt Whitcomb, everything is falling right in line with where the Team wants to be.

New Cross-Country indoor facility opened in Finland

At the end of August, the first indoor skiing facility opened in Helsinki, the capital of Finland. With 7,000 cubic meters of snow covering 18,500 square meters the facility called Ylläs-Halli offers conditions for a wide range of different winter sports.
