Ken Dawson has released the official age class, overall individual, and team winners of the 2001-2002 Michigan Cup Series. Overall winners were Tim Triebold and Wendy Anderson (men and women's division), and Mick Tiffany and Cassidy Edwards in the junior division. The Cross Country Ski Shop beat out Cross Country Ski Headquarters for the Team Trophy. For shear number of accumulated points, Sara Cockrell finished the season with 1,240 points for women, with Steve Smigiel Jr. collecting 1,762 among men.

The best four races counted for junior overall points; the best five counted for men and women.

Besides overall winners, Tim was also the Classical category winner, and shared the Men's Combined category award with Milan Biac. Wendy picked up both the Freestyle and Women's Combined awards:

Grand Rapids Nordic rounded out the top three in the team competition, after CCSS and XCHQ. A new team this year, the Strait Striders took a respectable 6th overall.

Given that the best five races counted toward Michigan Cup overall points, it's shocking to see that only 52 men and 19 women completed at least five races (and that includes juniors).
