The Vasaloppet, the first Sunday in March 2011, was fully booked over a month ago. Now entries for the Winter Week's total of nine races have already passed 30,000 registered participants.
The 87th Vasaloppet is full with a maximum of 15,800 participants. In the other races in Vasalopps Arena (KortVasan, TjejVasan, Öppet Spår Sunday, Öppet Spår Monday, UngdomsVasan, HalvVasan, SkejtVasan and StafettVasan) there is a 20% increase compared with 2010. The shortest race is 3 kilometres and the longest 90 kilometres - so, in other words, there is a challenge for every family member!
StafettVasan 2011 (for teams of five) has, just now, 50% more registered teams, which probably means it will be completely full much earlier than for 2010. Further evidence of the high pressure on registrations is that nearly half the places in TjejVasan are now booked!
Since Vasaloppet was already full in August, those who want to take up the challenge of the whole distance from Sälen to Mora are registering for one or other of the Öppet Spår days. 14,000 were entered for the two 2010 Öppet Spårs - for 2011, just now, there are already 4,400 registered!
