Tue, Nov  30, 2010 - By Mike Muha

Tonight, Tuesday, Novermber 30, is the kick-off of three cross country ski classes to get you ready for the Frosty Freestyle on January 15, 2010. Tonight's class will cover cross country ski fitness:

  • How to maximize the training effect when you have minimum time to train
  • How to set a goal for each training session to get the most from the session
  • What are training zones?
  • What are intervals and why do you do them?
  • Strength training for cross country skiing
  • ...and many more topics.

Come prepared for light exercise. A floor mat is recommended.

The class will be held from 6:30pm to 8:00pm at the Ann Arbor REI. The class is free, but registration is recommended.

Next Tuesday, December 7, the class will cover both classic and skating technique. Again, come prepared for light exercise: we will be doing technique drills.

The final class on December 14 will cover cross country ski racing gear and race strategy.
