2006 Central Cross Country Ski Coach's Symposium

CXC

Fri, Apr  21, 2006 - By Scott Wilson

Dear Coaches,

CXC Skiing is pleased to announce the 2006 Central Cross Country Skiing Coach’s Symposium. An annual educational weekend for Central Coaches at all levels; youth, middle and high school, junior, collegiate, club and also for adult/master skiers.

The purpose of this symposium is to present both basic and applied information on cross country skiing with the main emphasis of improved training, technique and performance for junior and adult competitors.

Last year’s CXC Coach’s Symposium brought over 50 coaches from around Midwest. A few comments from coach’s critiques and suggestions include:

  • “The strength of the symposium was the variety of topics presented covering primary issues facing most HS/JR coaches.”
  • “I took 25 pages of notes over the weekend! There were great discussions and I met a whole new group of coaches I never knew previously. I am encouraging other coaches in our program to attend next year too.”

This year we will again share the exceptional expertise and excellent knowledge of the presenting coaches, wax technicians, athletes and other professional specialists to help you develop, educate and produce successful programs along with the strongest athletes. Topics of the symposium will include strength training, development process of a cross country ski racer, waxing, and hands on technique training. All speakers will direct their topics for the J3/4, J2, J1 and OJ/Collegiate/Senior/Master age group athletes.

WHEN: Beginning at 6:00 PM Friday May 19th and concluding Sunday afternoon May 21st. Please register prior to May 15th, 2006 to insure space and materials.
